Colorado is not only home to beautiful mountains and breathtaking vistas; it is also home to unique focuses of light because of the ascended masters’ etheric retreats and the history of ascended master dictations that have been given here.
Dictations and the Living Tradition of the Messengers
What is a dictation? If you are familiar with the Bible, you know there is a long history of prophets through whom God gave messages to be shared with the people. When Jesus Christ fulfilled his mission, many Christians came to believe that the tradition of prophets had ended. However, the mercy of God is great, and he has continued to send his prophets and messengers over the centuries.
A dictation is a message given by an ascended master through an appointed messenger who has undergone rigorous training and testing to help ensure that the message is not diluted or changed. The most recent messengers known in The Summit Lighthouse tradition are Mark L. Prophet and Elizabeth Clare Prophet. Prophet is the last name Mark was given at birth. When Elizabeth married Mark, she took his name, as is customary.
Colorado and the History of the Ascended Masters’ Work
Ascended Master El Morya founded The Summit Lighthouse through his messenger Mark L. Prophet in 1958. In 1966, La Tourelle, located in Colorado Springs, became the headquarters for The Summit Lighthouse. Mark Prophet made his ascension from Colorado Springs in 1973, and Elizabeth Clare Prophet continued to lead The Summit Lighthouse after his passing. During the summer of 1976, the headquarters was moved from Colorado Springs to the Los Angeles area.
The Bridge to Freedom Movement, led by Geraldine Innocente, began in 1951. A.D.K. Luk authored publications summarizing the I AM Movement and the Bridge to Freedom, publishing his works in Pueblo, Colorado.
Before the I AM Movement, the Theosophical Society was founded in 1875 by the ascended masters working through Helena Blavatsky. The Summit Lighthouse embodies the Teachings of the Ascended Masters as they have been given by their appointed messengers through the ages.
In 1939, on March 19th, Archangel Michael through his Messenger Guy Ballard, thrust his sword of blue flame into the soil of Denver to draw out the negative energies. We can call for the activation of that dispensation for the binding of evil and the raising up of all souls of light throughout the Denver area.
Long before The Summit Lighthouse was founded, Guy and Edna Ballard served as messengers and founded the I AM Movement in Chicago in the 1930s. They established the Saint Germain Foundation in 1931. Under the pen name Godfre Ray King, Guy Ballard wrote several books, some of them here in Colorado. The ascended masters gave dictations through the Ballards, including some through Edna Ballard in Colorado.
The Summit Lighthouse Study Group of Denver is a beautiful community of light comprised of different cultures and backgrounds. Most events are bilingual, with both Spanish and English speakers in attendance. All are welcome here.
The Summit Lighthouse® Study Group of Denver was first recognized in 1984, when Dr. Marilyn Barrick, now an Ascended Lady Master, served as the first President of the Board of Trustees. The group first met in Boulder, Colorado. Many members later moved to California when the headquarters moved from Colorado Springs.
After that, the group relocated to Arvada, North Denver, and Lakewood before moving to its current location on Oneida. Since the 1980s, the presence of the ascended masters has been anchored in Denver through The Summit Lighthouse and continues to uplift souls of light throughout the state of Colorado.

The Summit Lighthouse is a non-profit spiritual community dedicated to accelerating the soul’s reunion with God. From practical spirituality to the path of the ascension, we have been sharing the Teachings of the Ascended Masters, as delivered by Mark and Elizabeth Clare Prophet, for over 60 years.

The fundamental principle of the Teachings of the Ascended Masters is that all sons and daughters of God have a divine spark that is their potential to realize the universal Christ within and ascend to God as Jesus did. This concept is at the heart of all the major religions, East and West.
Teachings of the Ascended Masters East and West
Among these saints are La Virgen de Guadalupe, Gautama Buddha, Maitreya, Jesus Christ, Saint Michael the Archangel, Zarathustra, Moses, Melchizedek, Mother Mary, Saint Francis, Saint Germain, El Morya, Thérèse of Lisieux and unnumbered and unnamed loving hearts, servants of humanity.
The ascended masters are all a part of the Great White Brotherhood*, spoken of in Revelation 7 as the great multitude of saints “clothed with white robes” who stand before the throne of God. The Brotherhood works with earnest seekers and public servants of every race, religion and walk of life to assist humanity in their forward evolution.
* The term “white” refers not to race but to the aura of white light that surrounds these immortals.
