Lanello is the ascended master who was most recently embodied as Mark L. Prophet, the twentieth-century mystic, messenger of the ascended masters, and founder of The Summit Lighthouse. Through his life and mission, Mark served as a messenger for the Great White Brotherhood and helped bring forth the teachings of the Ascended Masters for the Aquarian age.

A Soul Prepared from Childhood

Mark L. Prophet was born on Christmas Eve, 1918, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, the only child of Thomas and Mabel Prophet. From childhood, his mystical life was apparent. He saw and communed with angels and nature spirits, and after the passing of his father when Mark was nine, his spiritual devotion deepened greatly. As a young boy, he attended the Pentecostal church, prayed for hours at an altar he built in the attic of his home, and before finishing high school had received the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit.

El Morya and the Path of Discipleship

When Mark was a young man, the ascended master El Morya appeared to him. At first, Mark did not recognize how this Eastern master could fit with his deep devotion to Jesus. Years later, El Morya returned, and Mark came to understand that the path of the Ascended Masters was also the path of Jesus. He accepted El Morya as his teacher and entered the discipline of discipleship.

Mark also studied the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda and was associated for a time with Self-Realization Fellowship and the Rosicrucian order. After serving in the Air Force during World War II, he lectured on Christian and Eastern mysticism and the Masters of Wisdom. In 1952, he began publishing Ashram Notes, a series of letters dictated by El Morya from his Ashram in Darjeeling, India.

The Founding of The Summit Lighthouse

In 1958, El Morya called Mark to Washington, D.C., to found The Summit Lighthouse for the purpose of publishing the teachings of the ascended masters. In August of that year, El Morya dictated to Mark the first of the Pearls of Wisdom, weekly letters from the ascended masters to their students. This marked the beginning of a worldwide spiritual movement.

On April 22, 1961, Elizabeth Clare Prophet attended a meeting of The Summit Lighthouse in Boston and met Mark, the messenger for the ascended masters, for the first time. She then began her training as a messenger. Mark and Elizabeth were married on March 16, 1963, and together they continued to build The Summit Lighthouse.

Lanello and His Ascension

On February 26, 1973, Mark passed on, having completed his mission. He is now known as the ascended master Lanello. The TSL Encyclopedia describes Lanello as the “Ever-Present Guru,” continuing to direct the activities of The Summit Lighthouse from higher octaves.

Lanello serves on the first ray, the blue ray of God’s will, faith, protection, and divine direction. His qualities include joy, the magnanimous heart, and a practical love that calls students to wear the mantle of service.

Colorado Springs and the Light of Lanello

For students in Colorado, Lanello’s story carries a special meaning. According to the teaching shared for this blog, Lanello anchored the light of his causal body over Colorado Springs when he made his ascension from Pike’s Peak. This connects Colorado Springs and Pike’s Peak with the ongoing radiation of his service, especially through the blue ray and the qualities of joy, strength, discipleship, and the magnanimous heart.

Colorado has been a place of spiritual history for The Summit Lighthouse. La Tourelle in Colorado Springs became the headquarters for The Summit Lighthouse in 1966, and Mark Prophet’s passing and ascension in 1973 remain part of the sacred history connected with Colorado and the work of the Ascended Masters.

Previous Embodiments of Lanello

Lanello also served as a messenger and leader in previous embodiments. The TSL Encyclopedia names several of these lives, including Noah, who received the prophecy of the Flood and exhorted the people for more than one hundred years, and Ikhnaton, the Egyptian pharaoh and messenger of Aton, who introduced monotheism and challenged idolatry.

These embodiments reveal a soul repeatedly called to bring warning, truth, revelation, and spiritual reform to civilization.

Reflection for Students in Colorado

Lanello’s life reminds us that the path of the Ascended Masters is a path of devotion, discipline, service, and joy. His mission was not only to teach spiritual principles, but to prepare students to become living witnesses of the light.

For The Summit Lighthouse Study Group of Denver, Lanello’s connection with Colorado is especially meaningful. His blue-ray service, his love for El Morya, his founding of The Summit Lighthouse, and his ascension from Pike’s Peak all point to Colorado as a place where the flame of discipleship, service, and the magnanimous heart can continue to grow.

Closing Thought

Lanello’s life shows that the soul can become a messenger of light through obedience, devotion, and love. His connection with Colorado reminds us that the mountains, the blue ray, and the path of discipleship still call students to rise, serve, and carry the teachings of the Ascended Masters into the world.

Your Seven Energy Centers

Understanding the Chakras as Spiritual Receiving and Sending Stations

Our chakras are spiritual energy centers that operate at subtle levels, invisible to the physical eye. Yet they affect every aspect of our life, including our vitality, creativity, emotional balance, and overall well-being. You can think of these energy centers as receiving and sending stations for the energy that flows to you, through you, and out from you moment by moment.

Each chakra acts like a step-down transformer, translating powerful spiritual energy into different levels of our being and nourishing the mind, body, and soul. When the chakras are purified and balanced, energy can flow more freely. This is why the violet flame is such a beautiful spiritual practice for cleansing, harmonizing, and accelerating the light within each energy center.
